Gil A. Stricklin Sr.
Chairman & CEO, Dallas, Texas
The first and only employee of Marketplace Chaplains USA on January 1, 1984,
was Chaplain Stricklin. Even though today there are more than 2400 marketplace
chaplains serving across the USA, he is still the senior chaplain, his most
cherished title. Gil began the Employee Care Program, providing Chaplain Care
Teams to corporate America, after extensive experience in military chaplaincy,
business, communications, and as a public relations practitioner. He was a commissioned
military officer for 37 years, completing his service career as a Colonel in
the Army Chaplain Corps. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, the fifth highest
governmental recognition for military service. Also, he served as special assistant
to Dr. Billy Graham, the evangelist, traveling worldwide with Dr. Graham working
with the international media. Gil has four earned degrees, including BA’s
in Business from Baylor University and Communications from Texas Christian University.
He also holds a Bachelor and a Master’s Degree in Theology from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary. As a graduate of the Army War College and the
National Defense University, the highest military education, he has a Master’s
Degree equivalent in Geo–political Science. Gil and Ann, his co–founding partner,
have been married since 1958.

Richard S. De Witt
President & COO, Dallas, Texas
As President and co–owner of Jack Frost De Witt Food Brokers, Inc. of Buffalo, Dick
directed his food brokerage company across the country from New York to Florida. After
graduating from Bloomfield College with a Bachelor of Science degree and majors in
Business Administration and Economics, he entered Officer Training School and earned a
commission in the United States Air Force Reserve. As an Air Force staff officer, De Witt
earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and was the Deputy Base Commander of Niagara
Falls Air Reserve Station, Niagara Falls, New York. After 20 years of military service
and managing his expanding business responsibilities, he completed his Air Force career
in 1992. In 2002, after selling his business to a partner, Dick felt led of God to go in
a new direction, one with more eternal significance than being, as he says, “just an
ole fish peddler.” He joined the marketing staff of Marketplace Chaplains USA and for
three years served as the National Client Expansion Director, telling the story of
workplace chaplains caring for employees everywhere. Dick was licensed to Gospel
Ministry in 2006 and Ordained in 2007. He married his longtime sweetheart Marvel Young
in 1968. They have two children and two grandchildren.

C.G. Maclin
Senior Vice President of Field Operations, Dallas, Texas
After completing a 30 year career in municipal government administration, C. G.
Maclin joined Marketplace Chaplains USA in April, 2004 as the National Director
of Recruiting. In January of 2005, he was appointed to serve as the Senior Vice
President of Field Operations. Prior to joining Marketplace Chaplains USA, Maclin
served as City Manager of Lufkin, Texas, for over 13 years. During that time he
received the “Best of Texas, 2003 Visionary Award” from the Center
for Digital Government, and was recognized by Texas Business Magazine in 1995
as heading one of the best–managed cities in the State of Texas. A native
of East Texas, C. G. holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration from
Texas A&M University.

Steve Hefta
Northern Region Vice President, St. Charles, Illinois
Steve Hefta came to Marketplace Chaplains USA following an 18–year career in facility
management and architecture. Prior to joining Marketplace Chaplains USA, Steve
was Sr. Associate and Director of the Facility Information Group for KPS Group,
Inc.—a regional architectural firm with offices in Birmingham, Alabama and
Atlanta, Georgia. He left this position to attend Central Baptist Theological
Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating in 2002 with a Master of Divinity
Degree. Upon graduation, Steve joined Marketplace Chaplains USA as a Chaplain
and Division Manager, responsible for overseeing Chaplain operations in Kansas,
Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa and was appointed Vice President – Northern
Region in 2006. Steve also holds a Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree from
Kansas State University.

Douglas V. Underhill
Northeast Region Vice President, Mount Joy, Pennsylvania
Douglas V. Underhill is the Northeast United States Region Director for Marketplace
Chaplains, USA. Doug received his Bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University,
Brownwood, TX., and his M.Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in
Ft. Worth, TX. He also earned an MBA in Financial Management from National University
in San Diego, CA. He has completed some course work in pursuit of a Doctor of
Ministry degree in Leadership and Management from Trinity Seminary in Newburgh,
IN. He has had extensive training in nouthetic counseling under Dr. Jay Adams.
Doug has been married to Judith Ann (Howard) since 1964 and the father of a son,
Glenn (35), who is also in the ministry.

Maceo Gray
Midwest Region Vice President, Kansas City, Missouri
Maceo Gray joined Marketplace Chaplains USA as a part-time chaplain in 1995 while
a student at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). To attend seminary, Maceo took
early retirement from his position of Engineering Program Manager at AlliedSignal
Aerospace Division in Kansas City, MO. As Engineering Program Manager, he had
the overall management responsibility for the site's multimillion dollar Environmental
Restoration Program initiative performed with the Department of Energy (DOE).
For 25 of his 30 years at AlliedSignal, he held various Electrical Engineering
supervisory/management positions. In addition to his Master of Theology degree
from DTS, Maceo also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering degree from Prairie
View A & M University, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Missouri and a MBA degree from Rockhurst College. Maceo
was appointed Midwest Region Director in October, 1998.

John Mileson
Southeast Region Vice President, Atlanta, Georgia
John Mileson has served as Southeast Region Director since June 2000. After a
16–year career in banking, John left his position of Director of Banking
Operations for Barnett Banks of Florida to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary. Upon graduating from seminary in 1994, with a Master of Divinity Degree,
John planted and pastored a dynamic and growing church in Kissimmee, Florida.
He initially joined Marketplace Chaplains USA as a part–time chaplain in
February 1999. John also holds a BA in Economics from the College of William and
Mary, and an MBA from Jacksonville University.

George Cotter
Southwest Region Vice President, Dallas, Texas
George Cotter came to Marketplace Chaplains after a 25 year career as owner and operator
of his own business. At the age of 40 George became a believer and follower of Jesus
Christ; from that point on his values and priorities changed. For several years George
was part of the leadership team of the Dallas men’s Bible Study Fellowship and was one
of the teachers with Dallas Exchanged Life Ministries. George started with Marketplace
Chaplains as a part time chaplain, was hired as the Metroplex and West Texas Division
Director then Southwest Region Director. George received an Aeronautical Technical
degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Bachelor degree in Business
Administration from Texas Christian University, and a Masters in Biblical Studies at
Dallas Theological Seminary. George and Jean have been married 39 years with two grown
children.

Joel Rayfield
Western Region Vice President, Goodyear, Arizona
Joel Rayfield has served as Western Region Vice President since January 2007.
After a 23 year career as a Chaplain in the United States Air Force, Joel retired
from the Air Force and joined Marketplace Chaplains, USA in September 2005. During
his career in the Air Force, Joel served as Wing Chaplain at Andersen AFB, Guam
and Luke AFB, AZ. He also served as Chief of Support and Evaluations at HQ Air
Force Materiel Command, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH. In this position,
Joel planned and developed budgets for the entire command. He also served as part
of the Inspector General’s Team evaluating the chaplain program at each
base in the command. Joel holds an AA degree from Wingate University, a BA degree
from the University of South Carolina and a M. Div. degree from Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary. Upon graduating from seminary in 1976, Joel served as pastor
of Clover Baptist Church, Clover, VA for eight years.

Dan Truitt
Vice President of International Ministry/Training & Staff Development, Dallas, Texas
Dan Truitt came to Marketplace Chaplains USA in 1986 after a brief career in accounting.
Also, he has served on the ministry and administrative staff of several churches. During his
18 years with MCUSA, Dan has served as a front line chaplain and held every
major administrative positions at the Division, Region and National level. In addition to
overseeing training for new chaplains and continuing education for field personnel,
Dan also teaches corporate chaplaincy at Southwestern Theological Seminary and Dallas
Theological Seminary. Dan holds a Ph. D. in Religion and Ethics from Baylor
University, as well as a BA in Education from Texas A&M University.

Charles Quackenbush
Vice President of Information Technologies, Dallas, Texas
Charlie Quackenbush joined Marketplace Chaplains USA in January 2005 as the first ever Vice
President of Information Technologies. Charlie brings 22 years of IT experience to his new post.
Most recently he served for six years as Manager of Information Technology for Carrier, Inc.,
Tyler, Texas, where he supervised a staff and provided computer support service to 1200 employees.
Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Penn State University and a
Master of Management Information Systems degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Dan Shotts
Vice President of Accounting/Controller, Dallas, Texas
Dan Shotts joined the staff of Marketplace Ministries in November 1997 as the
only accounting staff employee. Today, Dan leads an accounting staff of 4 full
time employees. Prior to joining our staff, Dan served on the administration staff
of Prestonwood Baptist Church for 6 years and as Business Administrator of Reinhardt
Bible Church for 4 years. He not only knows accounting, but is actively involved
in the music ministry at his church. Dan studied accounting at East Tennessee
State University, but has 2 music degrees, a B.A. from Dallas Baptist University
and an M.C.M. (Masters of Church Music) degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary.

Jason Brown
Vice President of Marketing, Dallas, Texas
Jason Brown started with Marketplace Chaplains USA in February of 2002 as the first
region level staff member dedicated solely to new client development. He came with 20 years of
sales and marketing experience that includes Procter & Gamble, National Sales Manager for Wrangler
Outerwear, and Computer Resale Technologies. Jason was also a professional athlete and won the
1991 World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider title, while also serving as the rodeo’s National Spokesman
Coordinator. Jason graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Marketing from the
Rawls School of Business where he also co-founded the Young Entrepreneur Society. In addition
to having owned and operated a successful commercial real estate business, Jason has served
his community as a County Election Judge. Jason and his wife Cyndi are the proud parents of twin
boys, Layton and Parker.

Marv Wittenburg
Vice President of Training and Staff Development, Dallas, Texas
Marvin (Marv) Wittenburg joined Marketplace Chaplains USA in July 2003 as a part-time
chaplain, and since that time served as Area Team Leader and Division Director. Over
the past three years, Marv was an integral part of the Marketplace Chaplains’ training
program and in July 2008 was appointed to head that department. Marv successfully
completed a 25-year career with the federal government, where he held leadership
positions in the Social Security Administration. Marv is an ordained Baptist minister
and throughout his career with the federal government served as a bi-vocational pastor.
Marv graduated from Jacksonville Baptist College in 1974 and from Stephen F Austin
State University in 1976 (B.A.). He has completed graduate level courses including
theological studies at the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary.

Don Smith
Vice President of National Accounts & Quality Assurance, Tyler, Texas
Don Smith joined Marketplace Chaplains USA in 1990 and has served as Region Director
for the Southwest, Southeast, and Northeast regions. The primary focus of his career
with Marketplace Chaplains has been developing and overseeing the Employee Care Program
(ECP) with Pilgrim's Pride, our largest client. The Pilgrim's Pride ECP has been a model
for other national accounts served by Marketplace Chaplains. Prior to MarketPlace
Chaplains, Don served as Executive Director of a nationwide evangelistic organization.
This was preceded by a 25 year career in the textile industry, where he served in
management, engineering, and training assignments in Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina,
and South Carolina. A native East Texan, Don holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management /
Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Don and Jane (Bryant) have been
married since 1962 and have three adult children and six grandchildren.

Art Stricklin
Vice President of Public Relations, Dallas, Texas
Art Stricklin serves as the Vice-President of Public Relations for Marketplace
Chaplains USA responsible for all the ministry’s publications, media publicity
and other special projects including the annual Marketplace Ministries Classic
fund-raising golf tournament. In 1983 Art was graduated from Baylor University
with a degree in Journalism and Political Science. Since 1995 he has been at
Marketplace Chaplains on a full-time basis after nearly 20 years working in
the professional media world for a variety of newspapers and magazines including
the San Antonio Express-News. He is the author of eight books, most recently
the history of golf in Texas titled, ‘Links, Lore & Legends: The Story
of Texas Golf,’ and was nominated for the 1991 Pulitzer Prize in Public
Service. He is married to Belinda, has two daughters and lives in Plano were
he is an active deacon in his church, Prestonwood Baptist.

Ann Stricklin
Executive Vice President of Organizational Projects, Dallas, Texas
Ann March Stricklin graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Education, Speech
and English in 1958. She and Gil Stricklin were married May 23, 1958, the day
she graduated from Baylor. Through the years she has been a secondary school teacher,
active church woman leading the Women’s Ministry of her church, beginning
the Intercessory Prayer Ministry and co-directing the Nearly Wed Seminar. She
was the first woman to serve as president of the Dallas Baylor Club, and is a
founding member of the Baylor University Women’s Council and was selected
a Woman of Distinction in 1996. In 1991, when CH (COL) Gil Stricklin was called
up for active duty for Operation Desert Storm, Ann was asked to lead the ministry
in his absence. After his return, Ann remained actively involved on a day to day
basis. She is responsible for planning special events including the Integrity
Award Banquet and the Business Leaders Conference at the Cove, travel arrangements
and printing. She and Gil are the parents of two sons and grandparents of four
grandchildren.
